Everything you need to know about getting married!
-
In Ontario, a marriage must be solemnized by someone legally authorized to perform marriages under Ontario law. This includes registered marriage officiants and certain religious officials. A friend or family member who is simply ordained online cannot automatically legally marry you in Ontario.
-
Yes. Couples getting legally married in Ontario need a valid Ontario marriage licence before their ceremony. The licence is generally valid for 90 days from the date it is issued.
-
Marriage licences are issued through municipalities in Ontario. Both partners generally need to provide the required identification and complete the application process. I'll help make sure you know what you need to have ready before your wedding day
-
Most of my ceremonies are approximately 15–30 minutes, depending on what you choose to include. Your ceremony can be shorter and simple or more detailed and personalized.
-
Absolutely! This is one of my favourite parts of being an officiant. I don't believe your ceremony should feel like a generic script. I'll create a ceremony that reflects your relationship, your personalities, your story and the things that make you two uniquely you.
-
Absolutely. Personal vows are a beautiful way to make your ceremony feel even more meaningful. I'm also happy to provide guidance, prompts or examples if you're not sure where to start.
-
Not at all. We can incorporate traditional vows, modern vows, personal vows—or create something completely your own.

recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for popular wedding dates during the spring, summer and fall. However, if you're planning a last-minute wedding, don't hesitate to ask—I may still have your date available!

I'll guide you through the process with a questionnaire and planning conversations designed to learn about your relationship, your personalities and what matters most to you. You don't need to arrive with a ceremony already written—I help you create it.

With 16 years of experience photographing weddings, I've seen hundreds of ceremonies—from the traditional to the wonderfully unconventional. I know what makes a ceremony feel genuine, what keeps guests engaged and, perhaps most importantly, how to help you feel comfortable in front of everyone. My goal is to create a ceremony that feels like you—not a ceremony pulled from a template.
-
Absolutely! Your wedding ceremony doesn't have to be stiff or overly formal. I love weaving in personality, genuine emotion and a little humour when it feels right for the couple. Your ceremony can be heartfelt without taking itself too seriously.
-
Definitely. As a wedding photographer for 16 years, I know exactly what it's like to have a camera pointed at you during an emotional moment! I'll help guide you through the ceremony so you know what to expect, where to stand and what to do—so you can focus on each other rather than wondering what you're supposed to do with your hands. Plus I know to get out the way for the first kiss photo!!!!
